England has been invaded and destroyed from within without a single shot being fired.
Absolutely shocking how bad it is now.

@richardsandwell2285 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Before the 1990s the great decade of decline, its unbelievable just how far we have declined, we need to find a UK Trump to drain what is one hell of a big swamp.

@lor-px8wo February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Cheap flights to Spain killed the British seaside tourism industry. RIP Blackpool

I remember the feeling of freedom in those days as a child. Cheap and cheerful it was a great time to be a child !!

Born in Southend-on-Sea 1970, i used to go down the seafront with my nan, she would play bingo and give me 50p to go gambling on slot machines at the age of 6 or 7, Gen x the last of a simpler generation.

@gill8779 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

I always wanted a pony as a child, so at the pleasure beach the ride with the horses was my favourite. I remember rushing to get a black horse before anybody else did lol. Luckily I did get to own real horses.

@tkoteacher1707 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

I can well understand the idea of "illuminations" being of great novelty one hundred years ago …but really, who the f*ck wants to freeze in the gale force blizzards of autumnal Blackpool just to gorp at coloured electric light bulbs nowadays…such an anachranism

@tkoteacher1707 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

FREQUENTLY VULGAR – SOMETHINGS DON'T CHANGE

@donniblanco5239 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

I’ll never forget “Fixby” – Proper Digs with Good Grub and Plenty of it 👍🏻✌🏻

@ZUCKERWATTEQ February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Hmm I don't see any trees.

@Weho. February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

There’s something very soothing Sat on the beach, eyes closed and listening to the waves crashing on the beach. I used to love swimming in the sea as a kid, never a fan of swimming/walking through a cloud of seaweed knowing there are crabs not far from your feet. Don’t think I’ve swam in the sea in the Uk since I was a kid either. Time really does pass us by quickly 🙄

@lee-annebarrett366 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

I moved from Australia to England in 1977. I never regretted it. I loved England and everything it was.

@bellamccready6230 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Beautiful, all the women had their clothes on, not a brothel escapee anywhere, even on the beach. Women have forgotten how to blush today

@101brydon February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

What happened it was all white 😂

@ouch1011 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

I like how inaccurate the memories of the old folks talking about “how much better” it was “back then.” You really, really have to ignore reality to feel that way. Maybe people were just completely ignorant of what was happening around them back in those days.

To those who are whining that Britain doesn’t “look British” anymore, lol wow. Maybe you should go spend some time in the countries that people are trying to get away from. It might give you a better understanding why people migrate to different countries…if you even manage to survive (probably not).

@iangeorge745 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

I was 14 in 1978. Blackpool was magical in these days. One arm bandits. Air hockey. Fabulous memories in the pleasure beach. I too mourn for these times. It's turned into a s…ehole NOW sadly

@jacquelineinwood-ks3ig February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

No one was orange with pumped up lips, stupid eyelashes, or taking pictures of their dinners on their phones .

@1gerard47 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Meanwhile 2024 sh..t hole.

@keef78 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

As an Australian where the beach is only a place we flock to in droves during the summer because it's hot and it cools you down the concept of English people going to the beach is bizzare. Why would you put yourself thought that?

@Mack-bc3sp February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Sitting on the beach with big coats on 😂

@chiarabay9364 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Oh dear how did it all change!? 😢. I loved it when he said impeccably clean guest houses run by landladies with an iron fist (or something). Being from down south my beach holidays as a kid was Cornwall but the general population is the same. Oh for those days.

@stephenfoskett4633 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Hate now to watch this now as to see how my country has become a sespit thanks to uncontrolled immigration ! Many thanks to the politicians.

@fidelismcall6890 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

OMG thank goodness things HAVE changed but in what way I don't know. Blackpool was a hell hole and still is. It's full of scummy people showing off their fat guts and being loud and obnoxious and that's them before they've had a skinful of booze. 😝🤮

@jean2740 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

And oeople still wore clothes on the beach, and yes you could let yer bairn walk naked on the beach without the fear of pedophiles

@YanikOlsen February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Oh guys! I was 8 in '78, what a time we had. Where did we lose our way?

@jonahspiper February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

“The future couldn’t be brighter” the final words from the commentator.
I loved my country as a child and this is how I remember it. I would’ve been 8 at the time of this video and have fond memories of the Queens Silver Jubilee in 1977. I left in 2009 disillusioned, now live in Asia have only been back twice very briefly. I’m reasonably well travelled but have not seen another country that’s not in war change and decline faster than the UK and British society.

@hazza5999 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Ooh wasn't everything lovely in the olden days? 😂😂😂😂

@topcat4759 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Cromer in Norfolk was my holiday destination in '78 with my Cousin and his parents. Decent weather, beach and the amusement arcades, what more could you ask for. Compared to the British Summer of 2024 absolute paradise tbh 😃😃😃😃

@davedixon2068 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

@andyloxam5983 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Same old tram I was 8

@garyhare8902 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

To think a year later and the Tories were in power. We couldn't go to the seaside then, as 3 million were unemployed and the gradual sell off, of Britain's industry. Put that in your pipe, rose tinted spectacle wearers.

@KerryWoolley-d5l February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Fracking marvellous.

@drewlawrence696 February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm

Quote from the dialogue, 'heady, brash, frequently vulgar'….yep, that's Blackpool (and a million other places)

@Gunnercv February 15, 2025 - 10:30 pm
