I'm a Liberal (not a Democrat) who appreciates News Networks. However Democrats don't like News Networks because they can potentially cost their Political candidates a couple of approval points right before the midterms.

I absolutely love George Clooney but I think it stuck in his craw that Trump won the Presidency. Comparing what Edward R Murrow to journalists today is quite a stretch. I’m sure there are some heroes out there but for the most part journalists are easily swayed by their own convictions and opinions, which is less than honorable. I no longer watch newscasts on any network. This is Mr Clooney’s way of trying to give credibility to a profession that has sold itself to the highest bidder. Just my opinion.

with regard to smoking on stage – why couldn't they just forego that element of realism, especially if it doesn't bring anything meaningful to the story? We all now know that it's very unhealthy, and even though this is a period piece, I think it wouldn't take away anything by leaving it out.

See what political corruption does to your country. Now people who tell the truth (some are called whistleblowers) are now ostracized and ridiculed for telling the facts as they are. News media is not free of guilt in this, they kowtow to the political pressure and chase viewers/readers with a zeal that readily shadows the unbiased truth. After all, most facts do not go down well in the blinkered, polarized society that america currently finds itself.
60 minutes has the kind of 60 minutes story of a life time! Wondering when they're going to air the "DOGE Discovery," where close to a trillion dollars of government waste and fraud have been uncovered. They've covered Madoff, Sam Bankman Fried, pretty big ones. . . billions of dollars of fraud on those stories. . . But DOGE? They have yet to do a Trillion dollar fraud story. They're one month late here. . . maybe next week. . .or the week after, they'll do that story.
