These Republicans are useless. Neither house will negotiate. And Trump has no idea what is going on. The United States is screwed.

@EricSchafer-b1k October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

We will see if when the minority party never gets any give to their demmands. Schumer had better be ready for months to no progress as he learns the hard way extortion does not work.

@7743nope October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

As the Republicans keep looking absolutely ridiculous and untrustworthy as they’ve proven themselves to be since taking office. I don’t see why we keep hearing from them. They never say anything different than it’s not my fault. Prove it release the Epstein files.

@dianascrimger965 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Is th us government going to put on a TV license fee like they do in the UK?

@elizabethbobbio5542 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Need to keep extended it. Till they agree no high cost etc.

@coache5898 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

@annettebenjamin7253 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Why are Republicans being targeted by assination attempts?

@vampirezio6996 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Republicans are unwilling to sit down and negotiate, so the blame is on them.

@ivark57ofPA October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Thats another reason why we need TERM LIMITS in congress. …some of them have been there way too long and nothing gets done period and no fresh ideas either when you have same groups or reps in charge which leads to this unecessary shutdowns..

@erichvonmolder9310 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

The Shutdown is about the potential 114% rise in the ACA which is a lot, as I am on the Bronze plan living in a Red State. Why hurt the people who depend on the ACA, because Obama and his people came up with it? It is purely political and hatred of Obama, but that means many millions will be hurt because Trump got his feelings hurt? They will have to work something out "soon" because air traffic controllers will start calling out sick because they can't sustain working long hours, which will put in danger the public, especially as the Holidays are around the corner and we see an increase of travelers. This happened on the last government shutdown in 2018 under Trump. So do you want a fair hike to the ACA or dangerous skies during the holidays?

@robertleonard4995 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Doge outlined the wasteful departments in government that should not exist. A government shutdown means these departments can be permanently closed.

@armandfoumane5176 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Let them all pack their bags and leave; if they can't do the job they were elected for.

@dianascrimger965 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Raymond Massey became a us citizen in 1944!

@Marie.Quez25 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

America seems to prioritize bailing out Israeli and Argentine Jewish leaders, as well as elite billionaire investors, from their stocks and bonds over helping its own people. These are people who worked for decades paying taxes and are now being cut from the programs they paid for.

@zgord-nb1zi October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

I am so glad this horrible government is shut down. Honestly, dosent it feel better, less stressful, quieter and more normal since this happened?

@dianascrimger965 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

He is Jeremy Brett's former father in law! We think that aoc never heard of him!

@dianascrimger965 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

We are going to watch the movie arsenic and old lace again this Halloween! Why cannot aoc go live in happydale? She probably never heard of the movie! They could not get Boris Karloff so Raymond Massey planned Johnston Brewster! Raymond Massey received an Oscar nomination for playing Republican president Abraham Lincoln!

@piperjon October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Stop the bickering in Congress.
Stop the Democrats blaming Republicans.
Stop the Republicans blaming Democrats.
In 2026, use the POWER of your VOTE.
Don’t vote for ANY INCUMBENT.
VOTE FOR NEW FACES.
VOTE FOR FRESH IDEAS.
VOTE INDEPENDENT.
VOTE THIRD PARTY.
To succeed, spread the word. Tell your friends. Tell your colleagues. Tell your coworkers. Tell your family.
NOBODY votes for ANY incumbent. FIRE THEM ALL! DEMOCRATS and REPUBLICANS ALIKE!

@Tonythephony666 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

The dems shut down the government because Republicans dont want that bill to pass due to a part of the bill would be allowing free health care to illegal immigrants. Completely understandable on the Republicans decision not to give free healthcare to illegal immigrants. I don't want my hard-earned money paying for someone's free ride. Hell I can barely afford my own health insurance as it is. The shity part about this, the Dems will put the blame on Republicans for the shutdown

@coache5898 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Donnie has been threatening layoffs for 6 days. Either Do it big boy or hush the big talk.

@fredfrond6148 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

The Trump shutdown to keep the keep the Epstein files hidden will not work.

Hope you republican seniors have money to pay for sky rocketing healthcare premiums.

@Grandus11 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

One final thing Why do i still have to pay taxes to the government when at this time there is no government????

@uarbor70 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Do you know if this goes on for 61 days Trump can make all of the layoffs and cuts permanent that he chooses. The Democrats will come begging to vote that's when we should list our demands😅

@PyroShields October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

As long as Congress and the Senate gets paid. I don't see the point of going forward.

@escarletelumiere October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Yeah if you aren't doing your job, I'm not giving you my tax dollars. That's like my employer paying me to do nothing. Not gonna happen

@Smidgen-x4i October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Trump threatens firings. Since Trump, Rep. Mike Johnson, and Sen. Thune aren't doing anything to pass a budget, it's the perfect time for them to Release the Epstein Files. The victims were just girls. They deserve justice.

The democrats want the government to continue subsidizing Obamacare so Americans can afford it. The government should get out of the subsidizing and backing business because it allows corporations to continue raising their costs rather than charge prices that Americans can afford. The same problem exists with student loans; colleges continued raising their tuition because the government was backing the loans. While I don’t like seeing Americans struggle, it should not be the government that picks up the bill. Corporations need to produce products and pricing Americans can afford without government assistance.

We (citizens of the original 13 colonies, citizens of the United States of America) fought and died for our independence from the British crown 👑 and to remain bound together as free people of many heritages willing to defend our great nation, the United States of America.

It sounds to me just a common folk that you seek something more: a position of nobility; I bet King Charles can grant you such title.

GOP does not care about our health care. The art of the deal does not exisit. Bullying is all that the new GOP knows since they follow the bully and chief.

@jimhicks2976 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

Change the law. Money goes out to the senior citizens and the military. The first people to miss a paycheck should be the three branches of government.
1. There should be no recovery of payment after the shutdown is over.
2. Bothe the House of Representatives and the Senate should be required by law to be locked into their respective chamber for the duration of the shutdown. No hanging out in your office no running down to the mall to get a coffee and croissant. Each member gets one 2500 calorie MRE a day and everybody gets the same flavor of MRE NO EXCEPTIONS !
3. Executive and Judiciary branches are restricted to the area of the capital exceptions being in a time of war.
4. Single point bills only no more adding pork to a bill.

In all the political bs is being fomented by both political parties. This must stop NOW!!!
POLITICIANS ARE NOT CELEBRITIES THEY ARE OUR SERVANTS AND MUST BE REMINDED OF THAT!!!!

@MaximusTampaximus777 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

The longer it's closed the more it's going to hurt the Democrats so go ahead and take all the time you need.

@sandrapayne76 October 7, 2025 - 3:55 pm

So, let me get this straight… The government is supposedly shut down,, yet we still have a president, we still have laws , we still have cops, hospitals, stores , jobs, paychecks, still trucks on the road , still road construction, still schools open ….. So remind me again ,,,, why do we need the government?!?!?!
