Today we all know that Hitler and Stalin were friends and companions before the beginning of the Second World War… after collusion and various alliances, they became enemies aiming to increase the achievements of the Soviet Union. Communism and Nazism have been partners since the beginning
Foreshadowing the Soviet's intentions behind the pact is actually funny
This was an example of British propaganda trying to assuage the population that the pact was bad for Germany, when it fact it was massively beneficial to the Germans – they got a tremendous amount of resources from the Russians, and the Russians were even so kind as to allow the Germans to practice military drills on their land during this period. Stalin was dancing to Hitler’s tune – and danced all the way up to the outbreak of the war. When the Germans invaded, Stalin was shocked. He knew Hitler was no friend, but thought Hitler would wait until after he defeated the UK before invading the USSR. In fact, Stalin’s staff had tried in vain to warn him that an invasion was imminent – which Stalin dismissed as a British trick to get the USSR to fight the Germans.
For people who don’t know, this is before Hitler’s invasion of the Soviet Union. This cartoon probably represents the Molotov- Ribbentrop Pact.

It’s always been a trope through history that if you want to show someone as weak and ineffective, you portray him as short. That’s reflected in depictions of Napoleon as short even though he wasn’t, all the way to newspaper comics with strips such as Andy Capp where the husband is depicted as short. Even the movies of today in characters such as Prince Farquhar in “Shrek” or the boss who gets punched through multiple walls in “The Incredibles”. Shortness means weak.
