📍Police violently battling murderous gangs. Endemic violence, extreme poverty, obscene wealth and corruption on all levels. Welcome to Port-Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

Last summer, a settling of scores between tribal clans left 32 dead. But that is nothing compared to what’s going on in the city. Here the police wage a merciless war against the Raskols gangs. In 2020, Port Moresby was ranked the 2nd most violent capital city in the world, just behind Caracas, Venezuela.

Women in particular pay a high price for this violence. 80% of men admit to beating their wives regularly. One in two women will be raped during their lifetime. There are only a few shelters they can turn to and their attackers are rarely prosecuted.

My goodness, I was offered an employment by PNG IT firm as senior System Engineer, I just turn it down looking at few videos. The country is portrayed as dangerous.

The communists have an increasingly strong grip on Indonesia.
The communists played with Jokowi for 10 years.

The 1965 tragedy was masterminded by China, and Aidit was Mao Zedong's close friend, China now has an interest in resurrecting communism in Indonesia

If the police knows about the criminal activities of this man, why can't they arrest him?

Must be an old documentary when Queen Elizabeth was still alive.

Sometimes i have a problem with the questions journalists ask knowing the answer will get the person into trouble. Its one thing to ask the question when its safe, but asking a prisoner how they get stuff smuggled into a prison right in front of a guard is just dangerous and shockingly negligent.

Otherwise pretty good watch.

places where extremism and criminals hide and are protected have been going on for a long time, so evil behavior will spread and be imitated.

Papua New Guinea might be high up there in corruption ranking in Africa,but you have yet to meet KENYAN POLITICIANS LED BY THEIR PRESIDENT RUTO AND THE POLICE.THEY DESERVE MEDALS FOR HOLDING THE NUMBER ONE SPOT.

@Wavy_Gravy April 4, 2025 - 2:45 pm

When cops acted like this in the US, organized crime arose. Police brutality, leads to an escalation of criminals. 9:24

amazing how the terrible things that happen in an un colonized and native run part of the world can still be blamed on Whites

@paquitoignacio3449 April 4, 2025 - 2:45 pm

It seems the police are powerless to confront the robbers, the government are tolerating them.

@paquitoignacio3449 April 4, 2025 - 2:45 pm

To me it’s still a dangerous place to visit, there’s no law and order, tribal fighting still persist

@paquitoignacio3449 April 4, 2025 - 2:45 pm

Some people in Papuan New Guinea are still uncivilized, perhaps other tribes still practice cannibalism.
