I feel like somebody who doesn’t have racist tendencies wouldn’t feel the need to constantly explain himself the way Matt Walsh does. Most people don’t think about this 24/7.

Anyone who appears as physically capable of me or more physically capable than me automatically has me on alert to some extent

@cpfalcon51 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

I'd rather be safe and prepared for the worst than unsafe and blissfully ignorant

@russelldurnell February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

Yep he is racist and clearly a closet gay man too.
His scenario about being in a dark alley with another man,
His "I wouldn't be carrying a purse" defense
His anti gay comments and always talking about his wife
He closet gay wardrobe of check shirt and beard
Definately closet gay man.

When did Al Borlan get into politics? Is this what he’s been up to after Home Improvement?

@frqntplatypus7968 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

Using his logic and statistically speaking white males such as himself are most likely to be a serial killer so we should all be afraid of middle aged white men, right?

@sinistercitizen3061 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

It is ok to feel scared if you see someone, and within reason, you feel uneasy. I’ve been out at night and have be weary of people of all ethnicities who look sketchy (and you can usually tell). It has nothing to do with their skin color, but it’s perhaps how they’re carrying themselves or how they look at you. However, if you feel that way simply because someone is black and minding their own business, then you need to question why you feel that way. It seems like he’s trying to excuse the latter because everyone understands to some degree what it’s like to actually feel threatened by a stranger. However, these two situations are not the same.

Many on the left side of politics misunderstand the cognitive science of bias. They often misattribute nefarious intent to low-resolution, automatic reactions based on categories. While we can call this implicit bias, it is fundamentally an automatic, survival-oriented process designed to help us respond quickly to perceived threats. For example, feeling heightened caution in a dark alley in a rough neighborhood is a normal, adaptive response—just as walking in daylight in a busy area feels safer.

Two things can be true simultaneously: a person could fear for their safety in the context described in this clip while also being Black. This example is often cited by the left when discussing Black interactions with the police. However, despite the narrative, the probability of experiencing lethal force by the police is far lower than being involved in a car accident—or even a plane crash. Yet, due to the narrative that the likelihood of police violence against Blacks is much higher, there is a miscalculation of the actual risk, leading to automatic fear responses.

Mechanistically, both scenarios—the fear of danger in a dark alley and the fear of police interactions—are valid as emotional responses, even if the actual probabilities differ. So, no, it doesn’t automatically make you prejudice.

I'm a big white guy and I hear people locking their car doors and see women clutching their purses.

@willkittwk February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

I'm sure a lotta Black dudes check their shit when they see a shady looking Black dude coming their way.

@tyler6god February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

Damn Matt… That's a weak take… Adding another variable in there … Bit of a red herring there

@rolondoholmes1845 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

I would hold my purse if I was a woman lol but it would depend on what type of work I was passing the tight of his pants hanging down to do rag on his head and of course I would hold my purse, but if it’s a black guy in a suit, or in construction clothes or someone that looks like, they’re actually doing society some good then no there would be no need to clutch your purse so theres your answer

@chadbrick67 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

I've been the victim of 2 muggings each time it was 2 black youths trying to steal my hublot watch. Both were knocked out and both had knives one of my family members was drunk one night and 6 Somalia black guys set up on him and stole his watch.

@congnguyen490 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

@6by6by6 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

Stereotypes exist for many good reasons..

@dr.spideywartz7571 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

If I’m walking down a dark alley late at night and I see ANYONE walking towards me my guards going to be up

@MrSantified February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

Facts!!

@JM-qn3tf February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

Smh she still doesn’t get it

@dana1853 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

It’s definitely prejudice.

@bubbaballer88 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

This is not racist, Jillian. Recognizing that a group that makes up 7% of the population commit 56% of the violent crime in this country, and deciding to switch sides of the street, is simply situational awareness.

@beckyanne4290 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

I can see both their points. They both were great at understanding and explaining.

@chapagawa February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

It makes you a pragmatist. I was mugged by two black kids, my roommate was mugged by two black dudes and my girlfriend was mugged by a black guy. I hope you are starting to connect the dots.

@villainrack February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

This is an interesting situation though, because I actually would clutch my purse whether a white guy or a black guy walks past. But I would be MORE SCARED to clutch my purse when a black person walks past because I am concerned it would be perceived as racist

@edsusi February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

If your reason to do anything has merit, then assuming the reason for doing that thing is racist is incorrect.

@jasonfallon4968 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

George Carlin ‘Fxck Dr Phill !!’

@Fawn218 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

I heard someone say Pierre Pollievre is racist because, when he was asked about his position on how the federal government is compensating indeigenous people. He put forth some things he would change with reasons to back it up. It wasnt remotely racist. But leftists think that we shouldnt even be allowed to talk about how we spend taxpayer money if its related to indigenous people 🤷

@Hammertime77 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

Yeah Matt, that makes you a trans phobic racist. 😂

@greylock2672 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

I’m going to say if you are walking down a street especially alone. I believe that most women will hold their purses tighter not because they see a black man but because they see a man. It makes them sexist rather than raciest and there is no problem with that they are being alert and protecting themselves and their property. But it’s when women instead of just saying it’s natural instinct say it’s a societal, problem that they have to hold their purses tightly that is where the problem lies.

@James-y5s8x February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

How about the Asians

@Catty19748 February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

It's refreshing to hear people being honest and saying what most of us think! This is what the left condemn and want to try and "condition" you to think a different way when really this is just normal at the moment!

@321277328L February 16, 2025 - 8:25 am

If you’re wearing a nice suit and look presentable it doesn’t matter what you look like no one is grabbing their purse. It’s really that simple.
