Mexico should man-up and take responsibility for their own southern border, and anyone illegaliy crossing it, and the cost the US has borne due to Mexico allowing illegals to cross the country and crash the US border.

It's so novel to hear two commentators talking about stuff they don't know about with such gravitas.

I enjoy listening to these guys. I don’t agree with everything they say about the administration. Rory, as smart as he is doesn’t seem to understand many Americans still think we are better of than if Harris was elected. Her being part of the coverup of Biden’s cognitive decline was the last straw. People like Trump because he blew up the Republican party, when will the Dems find someone from the outside because they can’t seem to get out of their own way

I think Kier is in danger of being seen as too close to Trump. I've been hearing from a lot of Canadians, that they are really unhappy with the lack of support from the British state.

I think it's really important that we don't continue to be seen as Trumps lapdog

Have unsubscribed. This channel only talks about America.
There's hundreds of thousands disabled people in the UK that will be thrown into poverty next year. And you just talk about America. It's quite telling how ex members of the government don't really think much about the British public.
I expect that explains why the present members of the government don't really think much about them either.
We are heading towards a Reform government because of how the Tories & Labour have messed the country up & continue to do so. And all you 2 care about is Trump.
It's odd. Just saying….

Could you please have Gary Stevenson on the show?

Lord of the flies, Ralph, Piggy and Jack. Obviously your world war 2 veterans think their leaders who planned the whole war of 1 and 2 as idiots, children who are paranoid and think up of wild ‘beast’ to scare the rest. When there are none who are aggressive! And based from Brandon Sanderson books Mistborn, these wise thought leaders got killed, and replaced by an incompetent brute.

So we're being encouraged to politically discuss a fictional adolescent undertaking a fictional crime in fiction. So the government can modify policy in order to prevent this fiction.

Having worked at the UN HQ in New York, I have witnessed the extent of the anti-Zionism and anti-Semitism in that organisation. Open anti-semitic comments often went unpunished. Having raised my concerns a couple of times, I realised no one in the leadership – I regularly was in the presence of Assistant and Under-Secretaries General and it was clear they were afraid to act.

You can’t believe anything Lord Farquaad says. He had his wife teaching art history on zoom to third world women for millions.
This is a high class con man and should retire to his country estate bought and paid for by the USAID. No wonder he was in tears on election night, he knew his scam was over !

So it's pronounced "shein" as in the Yiddish, rather than "shine" as in the German. Interesting. I did not know this. I just put her on a list of 120 women (20 from this century) from whom my pupils need to choose one to interview in a satirical news programme).

BTW, I'm a left-wing peacenik Zionist Anglo-Israeli 🙋‍♂️ with good friends who work for the UN in Jerusalem/Ramalla and, having mostly grown up in England as a leftie, am as sensitive to antisemitism, including the subtle tells as anyone. I've been listening to you since the beginning: never heard anything remotely anti-semitic from either of you.

Having been in the West Bank many many times, I do completely recognise Rory's description of it and would actually have gone quite a bit further. I do think however, that he/you/one needs to be very careful to make it extremely clear that that situation is not the same in Israel proper, where I teach alongside Arab/Palestinian/ Muslim-Israelis, one of whom is the Head of Year Eight at the school with whom I went on a school trip quite recently. She's wonderful. I wished her eid al-fitr mubarak this morning… Or the two cars driven by observant Druze past whom I drove twenty minutes ago, who serve in the army (unlike Palestinian- Israelis and the ultra-orthodox)… Or The wonderful Arab/ Palestinian doctors, nurses and pharmacists who care for my family regularly. It's not the same situation at all.

Rory! How can you not have heard of Catherine Tate. You must watch some of her stuff.

Alastair, you're not going to get women to more children if you keep callng them birthing parents or cervix havers…..

Politically I disagree more often than not with these two and find them accountable for things that have happened in this country, but… something we've seemingly all forgotten in the age of internet extremes is that we can and should listen to those views we dislike, we should talk to those people that say things we object to, we should work with those we disagree with, because that's how we create a functional, fair and (hopefully a) kind society. I hope we continue to find places for civil discussions without (too much) animosity and tax wealth not work.

@Elizabeth-mp6tr April 12, 2025 - 3:00 pm

Dear Rory and Alastair:

Its very self-righteous to say anything against Israel. If Hamas gives back the innocent hostages, THE WAR IS OVER,….. Rory and Alastair!! ITS OVER!! SAY THAT PLEASE PUBLICALLY! DO IT.

And when the UK helped the USA after 911 where about 2500 people died in 911; do you know that October 7th, for Israel, PER CAPITA TO 911 is equivalent to 36,000 people dying in the USA in 911 not 2500????!

So, why did you help the USA in a very poor country of Iraq which was thousands of miles away from the UK and the USA? They werent a threat to the UK as a neighbour, for decades??? And your civilian death ratio in Iraq was 3 times higher than any civilian death ratio that Israel has now in Gaza.

So, since you have Military expertise, describe how you would handle all these neighbouring countries — Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Iran, — all bombing Israel at the same time, and they are all right beside Israel? Tell us?

So, its like, Scotland, and 7 other countries beside the UK bombing you daily….. with hundreds/thousands of rockets per day, per year for decades??? What would you say then, Sirs??? Mmmmm???

And, if Israel bombs a terrorist who bombs FROM CIVILIAN AREAS in Gaza, then Israel is blamed. And, when Hamas bombs from civilian areas, and use their own people as human shields, and Israel, if they were not to bomb Hamas back, then Israelis would be killed on mass in the mean time. And if it werent for Israel's iron and laser dome systems, thousands of Israelis would be killed per year!! Why do you even think they have iron and laser dome systems?? Cause theyre bombed daily for decades.

So, thats like you in the UK saying, oh dont bomb Scotland cause theyre bombing us from civilian areas. Lets wait till they move away. And, lets just "hope" in the mean time, UK citizens dont get killed while we WAIT, until the "Scotlanders" move away.

The fact that Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis all bomb Israel hundreds of times per day, from civilian areas, do you not know, THIS is against international law by Hamas???

How soooo righteous of the UK to blame Israel, when you helped the USA after 911 in Iraq which was thousands of miles away from the UK. Iraq was poor and in no threat to you! At least not as neighbours! How so self-righteous. I thought you guys were supposed to be brilliant. Thank God Canada had some sense to stay out!!

Give back the hostages, and the war is over!! PERIOD! SAY THAT, FOR ONCE!

And on top of it all, not one country will help Israel and they have to suck-up to a total disgusting human being to help them. Cause not only is Israel fighting on 7 fronts !…( try that the UK in your country for decades….try it??? Uhhnnn?) …but Israel has to fight the war of public opinion!

Return the hostages Hamas, and the war is over! Say it Rory and Alastair??!

And you speak of the ICC! Did you know the ICC wouldnt allow Israel to present any evidence countering any claim against them?? No. You didnt know? Check out Natasha Hausdorf, UK International Lawyers for Israel, from Oxford U. She explains it all. I thought you guys were smart?!

HOW SELF-RIGHTEOUS!

About the thoughts on the show adolescence, you touched on episode two which showed the dramatisation of a typical British school. I went to school, left about seven years ago (so luckily before the internet age of bad influencers), in an ‘academy’ the tories latest thing at the time, and I have to say every single scenario in episode two really hit home and I really recognised in the British high school system, I have seen what was depicted in episode 2 of adolescence during my time at school, not all in the same day, but on several occasions interspersed throughout my time there. It was absolutely extraordinary because I hadn’t stopped to think about how broken the system really was until I watched that show, it really hit home some hard truths. Both Rory and Alastair touched on the point about posters on the walls of the school depicted in adolescence, at the time of watching the show this really struck a chord, I thought about how my school had posters like this and how every single one of them was ignored, the students there had no say or even any realisation about what was on them or how they were made to put up, they just appeared between term breaks, I really think this drives home the point about how broken the school system is in the UK.

Isn’t it amazing that Trump has halted illegal immigration across the border overnight? It shows that these things are political and that successive UK governments have shown that they have been totally corrupt and mendacious.
