Aaaah, the 70s, where bands used to lip sync to a recording to accommodate tv.
Today morons pay to see bands live do the same thing.
I got codes, different area codes
True fact: They reunited and named the band Pinchaloaf
Had the album, then put it on 8-track, then cassette, found the box of tapes when I moved, now it's on Cd in my truck, Grand kids love this stuff!
great song by a great and under acknowledged BAND
Apparently the phone number dialed was the actual number for an executive at the record company. 😂 way to stick it to "the man"😊
Wolfman Jack hell yeah!!!
"Sounds like John. Paul and George!"
Sugarloaf is a very underrated band.
I loved this song when I was a kid now that I have a killer band I'm gonna re make it what do y,all think?
yeah, sounds like john paul and george…
Da Wolfman made many a cameo appearance on songs.
This song has all the ingredients for a standout pop/rock song. Humorous lyrics, a musical nod to the Beatles, backup vocals, great verses and catchy chorus. Bravo, Sugarloaf!
Good old days
Hey that Wolf Man Jack
Clap for the Wolfman…no, wait, that was The Guess Who. Wow, haven't heard that song in at least 40 years and still knew the words. Don't know where my car keys are, but I remember the words to a 50 year old Sugarloaf song.
Plymouth State College…. New Hampshire :–)
still jamming to this
Just think, using an actual touch tone phone to make the phone sounds.
Oh wow! I don't think I've heard this in 50 years. When it popped up, the song name wasn't familiar, but the band name rang a bell, so i clicked. Within 5 seconds, I was singing the words perfectly. This was huge in Canada, where i was.
My friends and i went up to sugarloaf to do some snow sledding and i ran in to Jerry. Ran (slid) into his car that is. He had just come outside to go somewhere and he saw the whole thing when i hit it.. He helped pull me out from under the car, brushed the snow off my back and shoulders and asked if i was ok. Laughing the whole time I told him No, I Died. He laughed and got in the car. I didn't realize who he was at first , He had a big smile on his face and gave me a wave when he was pulling out. That's when it HIT me. Hey that was Jerry Corbetta . I was banged up a bit, mostly my pride. it was bad steering on my part, and my arm got hurt, but it was cold so i didn't feel it till later. That was the winter of 72.
I had that phone
I like how they put the Beatles'
"I feel fine" riff
In this song😊
Great classic rock song with cool riffs !!! Love it ! Great post ! 🎸🎸🎹🎤🥁🎵🎶📽
Good to see Wolfman Jack getting down!
Anyone jamming to this Jan 2025? I absolutely love the music of this time. ❤
Why are they obstructing the face of the drummer?
13 when this came out, dug it. 💙💙💙
My late oldsr brother loved this song during his teenage years in the 70s i thought the song was sung by another group when i first heard it as a young child but the funky melody is so hypnotic 😊
Hard to believe there's music out there like this!!
What a great song!
When this song came out, it was my favorite.
I remember people saying that if you call the touch tone #'s, it will ring somewhere in the Whitehouse.
I'm guessing that it more than likely rings at the office of the record executive that dissed them?😉
Total rhythm… most people would not recognize rhythm if it hit them in the ass!😊
"I said, you got my number? He said yeah, as soon as you walked in the door…" Hahaha, yes!!
Guitarist is playing double stops!
Music, Music is my Angel, my only Angel. I'm old and all messed up now but I can hear just fine. If there is a God thank you.
Thats what the music
executive told Sugar loaf
That song was very successful
I would be sad if I went deaf and couldn't listen to this song anymore.
The song is about their hit Green Eyed Lady c. 1970…this one's a classic
Cool tune from my Teenie years.
Lindo tema como lo recuerdo haya x los 70. En mi epoca de estudiante
Best demo rejection song ever!
Actually, not sure how many are in the running.
sugarloaf is a awesome rock band with jerry corbetta the singer 1974
Funky
This song was notable because it contained a practical joke at the expense of CBS Records, which had just turned them down for a recording contract. The song includes the sound of a touch-tone telephone number being dialed near the beginning and ending of the song. Those numbers were an unlisted phone number at CBS Records in Manhattan ("area code 212" stated in the song) – coincidently a public number at the White House as well (different area code). In addition, the recording includes snippets of the guitar riff of The Beatles' "I Feel Fine," Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" and a line of dialogue from disc jockey Ken Griffin imitating Wolfman Jack (who would later perform the song live with the group on their Midnight Special appearance) stating the call sign of a radio station ("Stereo 92" in the nationwide release); numerous tracks of this line were cut to match local markets. –In'eresting tidbits from Wiki.
Driest drum track ever
I love this freaking song
Don't worry,,,I'm not calling you….
