even if he was asleep when she shot him it is unfair tyo say she planned it, she took a chance on the only option she saw would keep her safe. i cant tell you how many times i sat watching my husband sleep holding ice packs or bags of frozen peas on the lacerations on my face or the fractured jaw he gave me twice …i was toirn between the love and the hate and thankful we didnt have a gun in the house or it would be me in this exact situation, anyone that has never been in this situation will never fully understand. even though many say they get it unless you have been there you will never really get it

HOW does Chris' mother know for certain what he did, or didn't do, in private?!

@katyahevesy3142 May 14, 2025 - 4:40 pm

This case is so effed up beyond belief. The only people that understand are the people that have been in a abusive relationship. You can't just"leave". If it were that simple everybody would do it. She was the victim here and you can see it.

Also, if this isn't a lesson on REMAINING SILENT and NOT TALKING TO THE POLICE, then idk what is.

@Dee10294 May 14, 2025 - 4:40 pm

Oh the medical records…

@jesuspoblete2818 May 14, 2025 - 4:40 pm

After shooting him, why didn't she call the police, she just drove away 🤔 (?) and if he dropped the gun why would he not struggle to get it. According to the forensics it was a close range shot to the head (interesting 🤔).

I usually totally agree with the procecutors but, in this case I totally disagree with both the prosecution and the jurie's decision. I totally believe she was abused by Chris and was justified by killing him before he killed her and possibly their two young children. I hope this prosecutor loses her next bid for office and that anyone else who is abused seeks medical advice, has their injuries documented and those documents are seen by the juries deciding on the verdict. I'm glad her family has primary care of her children and, that with good behavior she will be out of prison before 19 years.

If you really believe that this guy was an angel then you got a problem. I watched this 7 months ago and my opinion hasn’t changed. Believe me the life you live at home can be completely different from the life you live at work or outside of home. I know this myself because i hid my addiction to alcohol and some drugs from my wife and friends for over 10 years. It wasn’t until i admitted it to them that they knew.

my husband is a kind gentle man outside but nobody knows what he is inside our home. I am lucky Im alive leaving him

@anastasiamihalatos3579 May 14, 2025 - 4:40 pm

This prosecutor made me sick!

@laourse1751 May 14, 2025 - 4:40 pm

How can his mother hear about all of those medical report, where it was reported that he burned her with an utensil, violented her with a gun which led to her vulva being inside out, etc. and still be here trying to tell us that he was innocent? That he was a good man? A good father? The level of delusion is crazy.

edit : "We want actual victims to know that we are there to help them" Congrats! You did the absolute opposite. This attorney, like many many many other people on this earth will only believe a victim if they get killed by their abusers. Thats it. A perfect victim is a dead one to them.

@barbaraportis2338 May 14, 2025 - 4:40 pm

This is one of the saddest abuse cases I have seen in recent years. Shame on the prosecution — especially the woman! Her lack of logic for the burn marks apparent over the years is hard to believe. How do you get burns and scars for years while you're raising small children. And friends and colleagues testimony doesn't have the weight of others' testimony. She's a hero to her family, friends, and literally fans, like me.

@burnningbridges May 14, 2025 - 4:40 pm

Even Chris Watts mother was in denial of the horrific disgusting way he murdered his wife and children. Of course this abusive man’s mother is going to do the same. Deny, deny, deny!

@colleenshea7626 May 14, 2025 - 4:40 pm

Bad people don’t do injuries in front of a audience.

“This is a dream come true for all of us and we thank you so much for your support,” the group wrote in the post. “This is not just a celebration for Nikki, but for all criminalized survivors everywhere.”

Addimando’s release was expected at some point in 2024 after her initial 19-year-to-life sentence for killing the father of her children, Christopher Grover, was reduced to 7 ½ years by the state Supreme Court Second Department Appellate Division in 2021. Addimando had been behind bars since killing Grover in September 2017, and her reduced sentence included time served. She also received a six-month Limited Time Credit Allowance for having a spotless prison record and completing a “puppies behind bars” program in which she trained service dogs, according to her lawyer, Garrard Beeney.
The case of Nicole “Nikki” Addimando has attracted national attention. It’s been the subject of a “20/20” special that aired last February; a popular podcast series, “Believe Her”; and a documentary, “And So I Stayed,” that highlights the plight of domestic abuse survivors.
