I am a older guy. I remember the 80's. It sickens me to hear people my age who always droned on Better Dead, Then Red rhetoric then, are now the same fuck heads now siding with a blatant ally to Russia

Prior to this particular meeting Trump called Zelensky a “dictator.” That came as a shock. And it was revealed that everything was upside down with regards to Putin and Ukraine.

So before this meeting began Z went into already after a shakedown with the rug pulled out from under him.

I can’t tell you the relief in seeing the outrage against this government. Half of us have been drowning in this toxic sociopathic gaslighting and the other half has been made to fear the left so badly that they support and believe what he says and does. I've listened to this channel for quite some time as I listen to a dozen other sources across the political spectrum….as an educated man on the street I've no idea what's going on right now, I just can't see the big picture and ive lost confidence that any of the commentators have a clue either. To see things get this bad after this channel collectively predicted with massive confidence Trump wouldn't win the election has I'm afraid damaged your credibility. How could one hold store with this channels analysis. In terms of the big picture I think the US version of this podcast has just put out an update which discusses where this is all going and it's very very disturbing

Based on what DC insiders have been saying in the days after this public spat, Zelensky had agreed to terms and this meeting was a formality to announce to the world that peace talks were beginning. Zelensky was told the minerals deal was a way to pay back the hundreds of billions the US had already given Ukraine, and a way to attract US companies and citizens into Ukraine so that the US has a vested interest in preventing another Russian incursion in the future. Zelensky was also told to wear a suit, likely to signify he was transitioning from war into peace.

Zelensky rolls up to the White House in his usual outfit, not a good start. Trump is cordial and reiterates what he and Zelensky's team had agreed in private – That Ukraine is signing the minerals deal and engaging in talks with Russia with the US as mediator. Zelensky constantly counter-signals Trump for 40 minutes before the meeting devolved into the spat. Zelensky said the minerals deal is for future US aid so that Ukraine can keep fighting Russia – Clearly NOT what they had agreed to and the opposite direction of where they were trying to go. Very bad move.

Zelensky kept calling Putin a terrorist and baiting Trump into verbally attacking Putin which would ruin the US mediator role by taking sides. Trump didn't like that but tried to move past it. Then Zelensky starts talking about how they can't trust Putin, that any peace that is signed with him is meaningless.

At this point Trump was trying to hide his growing anger yet still being professional. It was becoming clear Zelensky had no intention of signing the deal they had agreed to, and was using the public forum of journalists as a guest to the Oval Office to egg the US President into war with Russia. It was a complete bait and switch by Zelensky.

He kept objecting about "security guarantees" when it was made clear to him and his team that the minerals deal IS THE SECURITY GUARANTEE. It was a workaround, a loophole to give Ukraine a security guarantee without calling it one.

Once VP Vance made the comment of thumping our chests got Ukraine into this bad position, and now we need to engage in peace, Zelensky again reiterates he cannot trust any agreement with Putin.

This is completely rude, arrogant and frankly snakelike behavior by Zelensky. No doubt his meeting earlier in the day with pro-war Republicans & Democrats filled his head with some of these stupid ideas of trying to renege on Trump and trying to verbally bait him into war in front of the world. Using fear tactics by saying if he doesn't do what Zelensky says, the US will end up paying for it down the line. Add in dozens upon dozens of Zelensky eye-rolls and stupid faces he kept making while Trump was speaking, basically signaling he objected to Trump's entire plan.

This is the point when Trump and Vance realized he didn't come here to sign an agreement. So they began to treat Zelensky how he behaved for the first 40 minutes – Like an arrogant, two-faced liar who needed to be lectured like a child in front of the world.

You don't agree to terms in private, and then use the public ceremony of your host and benefactor to bait them into doing what you want them to do with fear tactics. Absolute snake behavior. You're in no position to dictate anything.

Imagine being so stupid and arrogant that you insult the only person in the world who holds your destiny in his hands.

If the US decides to wash its hands of the whole situation then Ukraine is finished. Even PM Starmer said during his meeting with Zelensky the following day that any European effort against Russia would not work without the United States on board. Europe doesn't have a large army. It doesn't have the defense spending. It doesn't have the will to sacrifice a million people and keep going indefinitely like Russia has already done. Europe can do very little. Russia can keep this up for another 10 years. Just google "World War 2 Eastern Front". The Russians don't care.

And Zelensky chose to behave disrespectfully with the only person who can get him out of this mess. What a royally stupid move.
