I was 19 at that time and saw that performance, it was my first Rush concert. This was the last performance of the European tour in …

Alex has a lot more flash & pizzaz than usual in this particular rendition….

Rush!!! The greatest band in the Solar Federation!!!😃🥁💯
Can someone (Rolling Stones top 100 guitarists) give Alex Lifeson some credit please???
come on children…. early alex…….
That pick swipe… gold
Wow❤❤
Great to see a video that really show cases Alex.
Just amazing
I will never in my life not rewind this song to 2:29 multiple times when hearing it
Just when I thought nothing could EVER top the La Villa solo from the Hemishperes album, I hear this live version, which in my opinion is just fantastic. Also, I like Alex's later stuff a lot, but THIS IS ALEX AT HIS PRIME. How can ANYONE say they like his later stuff (like power windows era stuff), better. Better THAN THIS???????? NOTHING is better than this…………….
if Bach were still alive, he would certainly be jealous of this composition
I’m a drummer, but Alex is my absolute favorite guitar player. The Goat!
Too bad people don’t even mention him.
2:10 This…This is what got me playing guitar when I was 12 years old. Alex Lifeson is the world's the most criminally underrated guitarist of all time. Hands down!
Hemispheres
These guys were 25 or 26 when they wrote and recorded this. Fucking incredible. The best period of Rush.
I was 11 or 12, & was in the 8th grade at Stone Mountain HS, in Stone Mtn, GA the first time I saw Rush!
I love miss you son we shared. Rush music. Did.
even with injured pinky? Alex's execution is shockingly amazing
I thought Steve Howe was a Catcher for the Dodgers ⚾ 🤷🏻♀️
Ah! Back in our day when the song was played ever so slightly different each time, to fit the musician's mood at the time. Lots of awesome improvisation!
Sadly, lacking these days.
Ged… Al…. Neeeeeeeeeeiiiiiilll… What a nice surprise for Neil that RUSH would grow into this monster group. Fulfilling
his every need and then a ton more. There is nothing like playing live. I know, I've been playing for 57 yrs… Rock on..
I am now 60 years old, and I count myself very fortunate to have seen Rush live in concert at the Seattle Center Coliseum in 1978 for their Hemispheres Tour. Pat Travers opened the show. I was 14.
i was there at this concert 17 years of age
Just sounds like so much fun!
1979 wauw daar had ik toen moeten heen gaan, maar toen kende ík rush nog niet 😅 , Pinkpop was vlakbij
What a great band Rush was. (Still is)
Prog rock at its finest!
Absolutely fk'n majestic!
One more time – Alex is not underrated. You like him. You don't appreciate how legendary and celebrated he is as a guitarist. You apparently didn't know that. He is not underrated. You are just under-informed.
3 man orchestra
When he clicks on the overdrive pedal at 1:39… 🫨🫠
And yes, He is better then Van Halen.
They are genius before their time their music from another planet
You d*** right?I am a damn right i am die hard Rush fan
Alex showing that guitar who's BOSS
How can 3 guys sound damn near like an entire orchestra?
greatness 100!!
Lifeson goin' off!
This song is completely Alex Lifeson’s dream that he had. A whole dream story. I LOVE how the band just lets Alex go everywhere he wants to on guitar, in “his” dream. I feel like this song has lyrics talking to me even though it’s instrumental. Art.
Oh my. Oh my. Never saw this solo. Lifeson knows feeling as well as technique. Timing, space, silence. Most guitarists have know idea those things even exist.
An american there for 5 yrs going to every Pink Pop but MISSED this one as I had to return to the U.S. One of their best songs if not the best !! I would have wet my britches seeing them!!
0:36–3:13 one of the most moving guitar solos of all time. I could run through a brick wall
