What a disgrace. Sing a song, put on a pity face and he won. I million dollar is it? Majority of the others worked more than ten times harder, but got nothing. What has become of the collective consciousness of the people who supported him? Is that what it means "few will enter the kingdom of heaven".
The sad reality of these winners is that they really never go anywhere after this I think they get a Vegas contract but half that money has to go to those judges. I think Simon owns the rights to just about all of them. Not to mention you get a stipend every year up to 10 years in order to get that million dollars and if the show goes off the air in the meantime you lose whatever balance is owed to you

From his first performance on AGT and hearing his story and how "his" students were his biggest fans. I was cheering for Richard. A simple man with simple needs, goes outside his comfort zone and simply does what he loves to do everyday while sweeping hallways. America needs more people like Richard. We'd be so much better off. It's awesome when the nice guy finishes first! I'm sick and tired of the animal acts, the child acts, and the professional competitors who go further than the talented people that make up the general population. To me, this is what AGT is all about.

He’s actually not awarded a $1 million dollar check. 2 choices, $300,000 a 1 time payout OR $25,000 a year for 40 years.

He doesn't get 1 million. From what I have read it is given out over 40 years. If he choses a lump sum it is a lot less than 1 million.
