Reform UK’s local governance so far has been a masterclass in mismanagement and misplaced priorities. They’ve been more obsessed with banning Pride flags and scrapping green initiatives than actually running councils.

In the first 100 days, they’ve cancelled or postponed 33 council meetings and at least 21 councillors have missed their first meetings. In Kent, nine out of 22 scheduled meetings were cancelled, including legally required ones like the governance and audit committee. This isn’t just incompetence; it’s a dereliction of duty.

Instead of focusing on pressing issues like housing, education, and healthcare, Reform UK has launched a culture war. They’ve scrapped established flag policies, replacing them with “British values” rules that exclude Pride, disability, and Ukraine flags. This divisive approach has left staff feeling unsafe and undermines the inclusivity that local councils should promote.

Their claim of saving millions is overshadowed by the chaos they’ve caused. Cutting budgets without a clear plan leads to instability, not savings. And their focus on symbolism over substance is a disservice to the communities they serve.

If Reform UK can’t even manage basic council operations and are more interested in culture wars than governance, how can we trust them with national leadership? It’s time to hold them accountable for their failures and demand better.

The British public ready to cut its own throat again. First Brexit and now a vote for a party that will end the NHS. Never underestimate the stupidity of the 'Great British Moron’. I'm not talking about the wealthy here: they know what they're doing voting for Reform.
